Sister's Uptown Bookstore and Cultural Center
Nearly two out of three children affected by systemic poverty cannot read at grade level. In the US, 43% of adults with the lowest levels of literacy live in poverty. WOCPSN's literacy program is a present-day focus. This year, we are global and will partner with Sister's Uptown Bookstore and Cultural Center to encourage a day of reading. Women of African Diaspora Griots is locally held through WOCPSCN chapters. The theme is determined by each Chapter as a literacy program as well as the distribution of books and educational tools. Our local annual events take place each August. Please feel free to donate books to our various communities.
